What is a small group?

- A Christ centered community of no more than 12 individuals.

- A Christ centered whose interpersonal relationships are characterized my love, transparency, and integrity.

-A Christ centered community anchored in prayer.

The purpose of a small group is: “to be a safe place to know others… and be known; to love others… and be loved; to serve others… and be served.

In order to be a safe place the group members agree to...

1.   Confidentiality: We agree that whatever is shared in the small group stays in the small group.

2.  Attendance: We will give priority to the group meetings.  If we can’t attend, we will let our small group leader know in advance if possible.

3.    Participation: We will share as openly and honestly in the group sessions as possible.

4.    Preparation: We will prepare for the small group meetings by doing any advance preparation and making and keeping our dates.

5.  Accessibility: We give group members the right to call upon us for help in time of need.

6.      Prayer: We agree to pray for group members in some regular fashion.

7.     Love: We agree that there is nothing other group members can do that will make us stop loving them.  We may not agree with their actions, but we will love them.

8.     Accountability: We give permission to the group members to hold us accountable to this covenant.

Two new small groups are being formed at Hammond Avenue Brethren Church (on on Sunday evenings and one on Monday evenings) and there is still room for you.  Please consider joining one.  We can’t spell Comm-U-nity without U.  Contact Pastor Terry for more information:
