Missions at Hammond AvenueWe are committed to Jesus' Great Commission to his followers: 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Matthew 28:18-20; emphasis added)8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8; emphasis added)Recognizing that we cannot all go "to the ends of the earth," we accept the challenge and opportunity to support others who go on our behalf. So we support many cross-cultural workers through our parent denominations, The Brethren Church and the Church of the Brethren through our annual budget. We also support specific missionaries through our annual faith promise commitment.
