Something for Everyone!
At Hammond Avenue, we have a wide variety of activities for all ages.

General
Sundays at Hammond Avenue
- Worship (Traditional) - 8:30-9:30 am (nursery and children's worship available)
- Coffee and Donut Fellowship - 9:30-9:45 am
- Sunday School and Youth/Adult Bible Fellowships (groups for all ages) - 9:45-10:35 am
- The River (Contemporary Worship) - 10:45-11:59 am (nursery available; also, Kids' Own Worship)
Communion
- Bread and Cup - in January and July during the 8:30 and 10:45 worship services
- Love Feast Threefold Communion (including feet-washing, a symbolic fellowship meal, and the bread and cup) - the Thursday before Easter and again in the fall
For Children and Youth
Sunday School - classes for all ages
Kid's Night - Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm from September through May
A variety of games and fun learning activities for kids from age 5 through grade 8.

Senior High Youth - Team Leader: Marisa Meyers
Senior High Youth is for young people in the senior high school years. They meet on Sunday evenings during the school year in addition to the Sunday morning youth Bible fellowship.
Summer Camp - Camp Pine Lake
Christian camping builds on the faith foundations laid by families and congregations.
(Fees apply for registrations completed after May 1. The church will pay one-half of these fees for children who regularly attend Sunday school and/or youth activities.)
Musical & Drama Opportunities
8:30 Worship Team - Team Leaders: Peggy Hoskins & Ronald L. Waters
This team leads the congregation during the 8:30 worship service each Sunday morning year-round. This service features mostly hymns, with some praise choruses as well. Music is accompanied by piano and organ and led by a vocal team. Practices are generally held on Thursday evenings. Check the weekly schedule for practice times.
River's Edge - 10:45 Worship Band - Team Leaders: Peggy Hoskins
This band leads the congregation during The River, our new 10:45 worship service each Sunday morning year-round. This service features current praise and worship music. The band consists of keys, acoustic and electric guitar, drums, and vocalists, with the addition of other instruments from time to time.
If you play an instrument or are a vocalist and are interested in joining either the 8:30 Worship Team or River's Edge, contact Peggy Hoskins via the church office. Practices are generally held on Thursday evenings. Check the weekly schedule for practice times.
Especially for Women
For the Young at Heart
GoGetters
This fellowship for seniors (generally those 50 and older, but there is no minimum or maximum age limit!) meets at noon monthly during the third week on a day to be announced. The gathering includes a luncheon and program.
Recreational Opportunities
Our recreation committee plans activities from time to time. If you would like more information, call the church office or drop us an e-mail. Activities in the past have included aerobics, recreational volleyball, game nights and bowling and golf outings.
Serving Opportunities
Food Sunday
On the last Sunday of each month, we bring nonperishable food to our worship service. This food is then given to the local Salvation Army for distribution to those in need.
Meals on Wheels
We assist with Meals on Wheels deliveries on the third Friday of each month. Workers meet at Kimball Ridge center at 10:45 am. If interested in helping with these deliveries, please contact Virginia Creedon.
Serving Projects
We engage in a variety of serving projects to show God's love in practical ways, with no strings attached.
Organizational Functions
Congregational Meetings
The annual election and budget meeting is held in the fall. Other meetings are held as needed by announcement. All meetings are open to anyone to attend, but members are especially asked to participate.
Commissions and Committees
Held at 6:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month and other times as needed. Anyone is welcome to sit in on the monthly meetings.
Board of Directors
Held at 7:00 pm on the second Tuesday of each month and other times as needed. Board meetings are always open to anyone to attend.
